Located in Northern Zululand on the Eastern shores of South Africa, some 180km north of Durban, our club, aptly named Beachcombers due to its close proximity to the stunning Zululand coastline, was formed in 1999 and has been active ever since. We cater for all types of photographic interests and all levels of photographers, so whether you use your cell phone, top-end wildlife camera gear, a drone, or underwater camera, you are welcome to come join us to improve your photography skills.
We have monthly themes to help members practice photographing a wider range of subjects, using different camera settings, lighting and composition techniques. Members then can enter their images in our friendly competitions to get judging feedback and advice on how to further improve.
Visitors are welcome to attend our meetings which normally comprise a short talk, followed by a viewing/judging and commentary of images submitted by the members. Various other outings, training activities and competitions are scheduled during the year by the club. Our meetings are now also streamed live for our members further away and overseas, so you don’t even need to be local to join.
The club meets once a month at 19h00, on the 1st Tuesday of the month at the Zululand Yacht Club in Meerensee, Richards Bay (click for map).
